DEMISE OF JAMES LAVALLE
The death of James Lavalle occurred last evening at six o'clock at his home on Bay street following a lingering illness from cancer of the stomach. His condition became serious some weeks ago and he suffered greatly.
Mr. Lavalle was born at Portage, this state, 65 years ago and came to this city forty-five years ago. He was one of the oldest business men in Chippewa Falls having conducted a saloon on Bay street for thirty years. Besides his widow, three daughters and two sons survive as follows: Katherine, Marie, Esther and James, Jr., of this city and Leo now in France. One brother Barney Lavalle of Butte, Mont., and a sister Mrs. Frank Donoher also survive.
