|From the Billings Gazette, May 17, 1930. David Jackson Manning was the husband of John and Bridget's daughter Amelia and son of their neighbor, Thomas Manning:
"Hysham Farmer Dies in Local Hospital After Long Illness"
David J. Manning, aged 69, of Hysham, succumbed at a Billings hospital at 11:15 Friday night after an illness of more than a year. He had been in the hospital eight days.
He was born in Chippewa Falls, Wis., on March 4, 1861, and in November, 1890, married Amelia Hogan of Chippewa Falls. Mrs. Manning and five children survive. The children are Irene and Leona Manning, Mrs. Helen Hendricks, James and David Manning, all of Hysham. One sister, Mrs. James Gallagher of Hysham, also survives.
Mr. Manning came to Billings from Wisconsin in 1905 and in 1910 moved to Hysham, where he operated a farm for many years.
Funeral arrangements had not been made Friday night.
